Parent letter for the week of November 13 - 16Denver Public Schools Dear Parents, April 25, 2008 Thank you for your continued support. We would like to thank our parents for attending last nights Parent Advisory Meeting. We had nearly 65 parents at the meeting. We would like to thank the Colorado Statewide Parent Coalition for their presentation on adolescent life styles. We would like to thank Mrs. Lourdes Valenzuela for putting this program together. We have one more meeting in May. More information regarding this meeting will be forthcoming. Our school is doing great. We just received data that shows that although our students may not be at the top of the list of middle schools with the highest scores on CSAP; we are at the top of the middle school list for our student’s growth. What this means is that our teachers and parents are doing so well with our students that when we compare them to all middle schools in DPS, we score very well. Please pass this word around to your neighbors and friends. Kepner teachers are doing a great job with our students and we would like to thank our teachers and families for their hard work and dedication to our students academic growth. Our Kepner Yearbooks are in and ready for sale. We will be issuing these yearbooks to our students a week before school is out. This is the first year in at least seven years that Kepner has had a yearbook. We are really excited to sell these to our students and families. The yearbook cost $21.00. This may seem like a lot of money, and it is, but it is still a cheaper price than any other yearbook offered in our school area. Please make sure that you buy and reserve your yearbook ASAP, they are selling like hotcakes. We would like to thank our teachers for their support in the student versus teacher basketball game. As great as our students are it is going to be difficult to beat the classroom teachers. A special thank you goes out to Mrs. Krueger for setting up this event. Parents, as the weather gets better we are asking that you watch over how your child dresses to school. Please refer to the dress code in your child’s student planner. This planner will help you refresh your memory on the required school dress code. If you have specific questions about the dress code, please call my office at your earliest convenience. Our 8th grade students will be attending many activities in the near future. These activities are for our 8th grade students who are in good standing with their classroom teachers and staff. Our students will be attending an excursion to Elitches in May as well as a continuation ceremony on May 28, 2008 at 5:00 PM in the evening at Respectfully, Mr. Frank N. Gonzales ?xml:namespace>?xml:namespace>
